“When I first met Rich (and learned about his work as a bit of a "plant whisperer"), I immediately shared my darkest gardening secret: that I'd been trying for years to grow plumerias, a plant I adored, but had never had any luck. I still remember Rich's grin when he assured me that we could absolutely make that happen...my "black thumb" didn't scare him in the least! So our journey together started out with a very unassuming cutting—essentially, a bare stick stuck in a pot of dirt. As the growing season progressed, I peppered Rich with all sorts of worries: Was it in the right spot? Did it need more water? Why wasn't it leafing out yet? Rich fielded each of my questions with thoughtful care, guiding me every step of the way and even helping me source special fertilizer and a soil supplement, which I never would've thought to try! And sure enough...this year I was blessed with my first-ever plumeria blossoms, as beautiful and fragrant as you could imagine! I was ecstatic and (as history has proven) I never could've done it without Rich. His passion for nature is clear, and it makes him exceptional at what he does.
